Here are this years presenters:
Jay & Chloe Sutliffe: Jay Sutliffe, PhD, RD will be our main speaker. He is an Associate Professor of Health Sciences at Northern Arizona University. Some of you may remember him from when he and his wife, Chloe, worked here at Black Hills, or maybe you knew them when they had the “Veggies” restaurant in Rapid City. His interests are disease prevention and reversal using non-invasive lifestyle practices, and wellness across the lifespan. Chloe will be conducting a cooking class with recipes from her brand new cookbook which will be available for sale. Jay and Chloe currently have a program on 3 Angels Broadcasting Network (3ABN), “Optimize 4 Life”.
Courtney Peterson: Our other Guest Speaker is Courtney Peterson, PhD, who is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nutrition Sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is also a research scientist in the areas of Nutrition, Obesity, and Diabetes. Currently, she is doing research on treating obesity and diabetes using a plant-based diet and restricted time feeding studies. (Restricted Time Feeding is eating one or two meals a day instead of the 3 or more as currently used for diabetes.)
Our Alumni will enjoy a picnic at one of Black Hill’s pristine lakes, a cozy evening campfire, visit the Mt. Rushmore evening program. Plus wonderful group hikes in the surrounding area and a cooking class with new ideas for improved health.
