I hear that 20 min minimum a day of intense aoerobics is what we need? However Body and Spirit last 30 minutes and it seems like the intensitive time is only 10 minutes? Why or how is that going to provide the intense work out?

I usually tried to do 15 minutes of aerobic workout on "Body & Spirit". Kenneth Cooper, MD says to do at least 12 minutes. The standard suggested by most today is 20-30 minutes. In that time, you need to warm-up and cool-down, so really we are not too far off. Also, people who watch the show come in all ranges of fitness. Even what we do can be too much for some.

Some of the programs are very intense and some are very gentle. I know there are a lot of programs out there much better than mine. However, I have never seen one that will address those who cannot move very well or possibly cannot walk at all. I get letters from all over the world from people who said they wanted to start exercising but did not know where to start. They saw me doing a program in a chair and felt they could at least do that. They found themselves getting stronger and capable of doing much more.

During a wellness program here in the Black Hills, we had several women in their 50s. They decided to have a push-up contest. The best one did 10. We had an 87-year-old woman in the program who was already somewhat stooped over, she came up to the other women and said; "can I try". One woman said; "sure honey go ahead". She shocked them by doing 18 push-ups! When the women questioned her she told him how she had been following my program for five years. She started doing push-ups against the wall first. When they became too easy she got on the floor and did them off her knees. She then informed them that those became easy so she started doing regular push-ups. Adding insult to injury she told them that she actually had a bad day, she usually did 20!

Can I add... that I like your program because the music much more fitting for christians to excise with. Thanks fro your information, it's encouraging. I'm trying to train my body to know taht it does not need intense 'overexertion' exercise forms to feel good.
