Goldenseal, Hydrastis canadensis, is a locally acting antibiotic, and a mild immune-stimulant, useful in upper respiratory, urinary, yeast, and digestive tract infections. It is very drying and particularly helpful after the infection has passed and there is lingering stagnation in the respiratory, digestive, or urinary mucous membranes. Goldenseal lowers blood sugar and, like most bitters, stimulates digestion. It is a specific remedy for diarrhea caused by giardia. This wide-ranging herb has also been used to treat herpes and chlamydia infections and herpes outbreaks.
Suggested Use: As a dietary supplement, take 2 ml (2 full droppers) two to four times a day (unless otherwise directed) in a small amount of water, or drop under the tongue. Take for two weeks, discontinue use for 2 weeks, and then you can start again for another two weeks until the infection resolves.
Ingredients: Goldenseal root, pure alcohol, distilled water.
Warnings: Keep out of reach of children. Goldenseal should not be used longer than 2 weeks.
